  in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition and a scholar o
 f Buddhist philosophy. He began the path of medita
 tion at 17 years old\, touched by the tenderness o
 f the human experience and filled with questions a
 bout what reality was all about. He soon encounter
 ed the writings of great masters from various trad
 itions such as J Krishnamurti\, Suzuki Roshi\, Thi
 ch Nhat Hang and Sogyal Rinpoche. Thirty years lat
 er\, Jan continues to be moved by the vast profund
 ity of the Buddhist path and its vision of the inh
 erent wisdom\, loving kindness and strength that l
 ies in the minds of each and everyone of us.</span

 ize:18px\;">Jan was honoured to be entrusted by Kh
 enchen Namdrol Rinpoche and Mindroling Jetsun Khan
 dro Rinpoche as one of the twenty-five worldwide R
 igpa Senior teachers. In 2017\, he was selected to
  be a participant in the Milinda program\, a 10-ye
 ar\, international Buddhist teacher training progr
 am under the guidance of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoch
 e.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Helvetica
 \;font-size:18px\;">Jan grew up in the Netherlands
  where he earned a Masters Degree in Historical An
 thropology. He is fluent in English and Dutch. He 
 lives in Brisbane where he works as a data analyti
 cs professional. Jan was instrumental in founding 
 Rigpa Brisbane in 1999\, where he has served as a 
 Dharma instructor for over 20 years.</span></p><br
