This free event is open to everyone and features:

  • Outer Peace - A keynote address and Q+A with the Institute for Economics and Peace’s founder, Steve Killelea
  • Inner Peace - A talk and guided meditation by Rigpa Teacher Marianne Gizycki
  • Building Peace - An interactive Pillars of Peace workshop facilitated by the IEP’s Lea Perekrests. Experience how to create ‘Positive Peace’ and strengthen peace in your own family and community
  • Event Facilitation by Vanessa Clayton

Steve is a philanthropist focused on peace and sustainable development, with an extensive background in international business. A technology industry entrepreneur, Steve built one of Australia’s leading publicly listed IT companies, Integrated Research . He established the Global Peace Index - the world’s leading measure of global peacefulness – and the independent think tank the Institute for Economics and Peace.


Marianne Gizycki

Marianne is a Teacher with Rigpa. She has been studying meditation and Tibetan Buddhism for over 30 years. She provides meditation sessions at a refuge hoMarianne-G-100x100-bu.jpeguse for women recovering from drug and alcohol dependency.


Patricia Garcia

Patricia is the Partnership Development Manager at the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP). Over 20 years experience working in the world's conflicts including Afghanistan, Sudan, South Sudan, Bosnia and Burma she has managed humanitarian aid and development programmes to assist refugees and displaced persons with international NGOs and UN agencies. lea-perekrests-bu.jpeg



Vanessa Clayton (Event Facilitator)

Vanessa is a marketing and communications professional with 20 years experience in strategic planVanessa-Clayton.jpegning, writing and implementation. She has successfully managed corporate reputation, events and media campaigns for some of Australia’s largest service organisations.
