Tara, the embodiment of compassion and enlightened activity and known as 'She who Liberates', is a deity that takes many forms that vary from peaceful to wrathful in aspect. The Praises to the Twenty-One Taras are a homage to Tara, and a poetic description of her physical features, qualities, abilities, mantras and hand gestures. She is conjured as Deliverer, Saviour and Swift One. For Tibetan Buddhists over the world, it is among the most popular of all prayers to Tara, and it is chanted by monastics and lay practitioners on a daily basis.

About Khenpo Tsering Tashi
Khenpo Tsering Tashi was born in Tibet and ordained as a monk at the age of sixteen. He studied and received empowerments from preeminent masters within the Mindroling, Sakya and Kagyu lineages.

After he was released in 2006, Khenpo left Tibet for India. There he continued his studies under the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His Holiness Sakya Trizin, and Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse.
In 2012 Khenpo Tsering Tashi established Yeshikhorlo, a Tibetan Buddhist Centre of Study and Practice in Taiwan, and later in Malaysia. In 2016 Khenpo Tsering Tashi resettled in Sydney and he has become an Australian citizen. He now teaches widely in Australia.
