Understanding the Buddhist Spiritual Path

10 Week Course

This is a new course designed for students who have done some introductory courses and now want to go more deeply. This course provides a bridge for students who are considering becoming a Rigpa Melbourne student/subscriber.  The course includes time to watch short teachings, with time for questions and answers in a small group setting. The course will work through the following topics:

• The Four Noble Truths
• The three wisdom tools
• Rigpa - its history, structure, and the spiritual tradition and lineage it belongs to
• What does it mean to be a Rigpa student and have devotion in a western context?
• What is the role of the teacher and the lineage?
• What does taking refuge mean?
• What is bodhichitta?
• What is Vajrayana?

Course fees are $195 full/$90 concession.  Please note that the pricelessness of the teachings is not reflected in the course fees. Pre-requisites
This course is not an entry level course.  Pre-requisites for this course are the completion of at least four of the modules within What Meditation Really Is or Introduction to Buddhism i.e. four of the following:

• Exploring Meditation (What Meditation Really Is module 1)
• Using Senses, Thoughts and Emotions as a Support for Meditation (What Meditation Really Is module 2)
• The Essence and Nature of Mind (What Meditation Really Is module 3)
• Wisdom (Introduction to Buddhism module 1)
• Loving Kindness (Introduction to Buddhism module 2)
• Compassion (Introduction to Buddhism module 3).
