This month, our Sangha Day will open by connecting to the vast inspiration offered by our lineage through a teaching by Yangthang Rinpoche: Guru Rinpoche and Nature of Mind. In this teaching Yanghthang Rinpoche shows how Guru Yoga is a crucial practice for recognizing the nature of mind, and he explains here exactly how to do this.

Yangthang Rinpoche was a lineage holder of the Nyingthig Yabshi, which combines all the major Dzogchen schools. In 1959 he chose to stay in Tibet to teach. He lived for 22 years in Chinese prisons, teaching both Tibetan prisoners and Chinese guards. After his release in 1981, Yangthang Rinpoche traveled throughout Europe, Asia, and the US, to give teachings and transmissions.

We will follow Yangthang Rinpoche's teaching with an indepth exploration of compassion through teachings from Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche on developing universal responsibility and altruistic mind.

Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, the son of the third Neten Chokling Rinpoche, grew up in a monastic environment and received extensive training in the Nyingma lineage, especially those of the Longchen Nyingtik, from his root teacher, His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. Rinpoche also studied extensively under Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche and the great scholar Khenpo Rinchen.

Following these teachings, we warmly invite you to join us for a celebratory picnic in Camperdown Memorial Rest Park. If you are not able to attend the teachings you are more than welcome to join us at 12.30 for the picnic too. Please bring a plate of food to share.
