Are you ready?

How to prepare for my own death
Online Training for the Rigpa sangha

For someone who has prepared and practiced, death comes not as a defeat but as a triumph, the crowning and most glorious moment of life.
~ Sogyal Rinpoche

From a spiritual point of view, the moment of death is considered to be the most important moment of our life. This training presents specific guidance and practice advice for understanding and preparing for death. We will look at how to prepare ourselves, spiritually, emotionally and practically, and so become a true source of support for each other on our spiritual journey through life and death.

Students who have taken at least one Rigpa course/retreat and all Rigpa Mandala students are encouraged to attend this special training, even if you have attended the course before.

This training will be led by Carmel Williams, who’s warmth, energy and deep experience with the Are You Ready process, make these sessions unmissable. As well as her long time leadership in Rigpa’s Spiritual Care movement, did you know Carmel has been instrumental in establishing the biography service unit of Karuna Hospice Services, a Buddhist palliative care provider? The biography service helps residents record, transcribe, and publish their biographies, thereby providing a precious opportunity to reflect on the meaning of their lives.

The Are You Ready? website has a wealth of teachings and practices, as well as practical information on preparing for death, spiritual care after death, bereavement and supporting non-buddhist family and friends. Subscribing mandala students can access the website at www.areyouready.rigpa.org
